Let's get away from it all...

And as my second post - I am going to make excuses for not posting for the next 2 weeks!
Yep, not a great start to my blogging life. But I have a good excuse, I promise!! My fantastic fiance (FF) got me tickets to Lord Howe Island for a mini-holiday, for my birthday earlier this year. So tomorrow in the wee-hours of the morning I will be on the way to the airport, flying up to Sydney and then to the island.

I've never been to Lord Howe before, but I am quite excited - look how beautiful it is:

Better late than never...

So, after years of meaning to start a blog, I finally did it. It is a little bit scary - I have no idea what I am doing! Layouts, posts, pictures... I hope I can handle it :)

The thing that finally pushed me into starting this was that I won a giveaway! I won this beautiful fabric from SuzySewing:

I had planned on making a pussy-bow blouse from it, maybe from this pattern which I happen to have picked up the other day:

But maybe the fabric print is too busy for the bow? What do you think? I will have to see what I think when the fabric arrives!

In any case, that was the final straw - after I won the giveaway I knew it was time to bite the bullet and start a blog of my own! I hope this will push me to start sewing more, too!
