The Seafoam Set

This lingerie set was actually finished off a while ago, but I had not got around to blogging it. It is the Anna bralette and the Lola panties, both from Ohhh Lulu.

The details:
Pattern: Anna bralette and Lola panties by Ohhh Lulu
Fabric: White stretch lace from MintFrog on Etsy, sheer white mesh from Booby Traps
Notions: Elastics, rings, sliders and closure from Booby Traps
Size: S in the Anna and M in the Lola
Special touches and alterations: Altered the Anna to have a scallop lace edge.
Full disclosure: it is a very sheer little set, so I am wearing other underwear underneath for modesty :) The bralette is made of this lace from MintFrog on Etsy (which reminds me of frothy sea waves). The briefs have a sheer mesh front and the back is cut from lace. I added navy blue straps to the bra to add some interest, and used gold rings and sliders like always.
The main thing that annoys me about this pair is that I decided not to use any elastic along the leg opening of the lace, but I probably should have. The way it is, the elastic along the front of the legs pulls the lace forward at the side seam. Maybe another fix would be to loosen the elastic through the mesh portion of the leg opening?
The other thing I would change in hindsight is that I made the briefs by sewing all the pieces together and then adding the elastics. However, I struggled with the parts where the mesh met the elastic and I was trying to finish only the mesh portion with the elastic. Since the lace edge didn't need to be finished, it would have made more sense to sew elastic to the mesh parts of the leg opening prior to sewing the side seams.
The bralette didn't have any construction issues, but I do wish the overlap was a bit more... overlapped :P It tends to pull outwards a bit. Again, maybe clear elastic along the neckline edge of the lace would help here. I guess there are always lessons to be learned :)
